CROSSING SMASH.
.5 occupants of car killed. [Australian & N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received this day at 9.30 fl.ni.l ADELAIDE. -May 1. A shocking accident occurred at Cheltenham railway crossing when five occupants of a motor car were killed. When the car was '.approaching the crossing it was raining hard and all the curtains were closed. As the crossing gates were open, the ear was driven confidently ahead. When it reached the middle of the down line, a train from Adelaide to Port Adelaide crashed into it. There were three women and two men in the car. All tho bodies wer mangled beyond recognition and their names have not yet been definitely ascertained. They are thought to he all members of the Caire family of Port- Adelaide.
