APPLE EXPORTS. I NELSON, April 29 Tn opening the Nelson Idorticultura! Society’s Chrysanthemum Show, Air H. Atniore, ALP., who last week rendered Valuable services in the interests of' the export apple trade referred to the position of the export apple trade. Last year, ho said, the Government had given one penny per lb. guarantee up to three hundred thousand cases. This had been increased at the beginning of this smason to five hundred thousand cases. The yield this year was such an enormous one that it was later found ne~ cessnry to raiso the number on which the guarantee to seven hundred and. fifty thousand cases, and he felt perfectly certain that this request would be granted. The Port Hobart, he said, would load up to GO.OOO cases at Nelson. and even more, if the depth of water allowed, and when .she left New Zealand, she would go as the first ship to leave with a full (largo of apples, carrying probably up to one hundred and twenty thousand cases.
