“THIS FREEDOM.”—TO-NIGHT
"This Freedom,” a, .Master Picture, the companion picture to ‘‘lf Winter Comes.” and written by tlio same author, A. S. .W. Hutchison, is a drama that echoes the oft-repeated sugegstion 11 1 al “a woman's place is at home.” Is a woman's constant yea mini; for a, man’s, full life, real or natural? That is the theme of ‘‘This Freedom.” To-day women arc orating on platforms, pleading in courts, serving on juries, and debating in Parliament, and only a yearning for tuore of life's opportunities force them there. Pul what of the "sum” with which they obtain this freedom. Often it is at the price of ruined homes, morally defective children, and the torturing of the finest feininien instincts, and in breaking out into this so-called "wider life.” It is very doubtful ii’ women have really : conquered freedom, or only exchanged real liberty for servitude, and are merely becoming slaves to an alien and unnatural existence. "This Freedom” proves whether women can he free in the modern sense. Miss Fay Compton, the talented English actress, plays the part of the modern woman, with Clive Prank sharing the honour of co-starring. Fay Compton, the talented English actress, who has tho leading part in the photoplay version of A. S. AI.
