CHRISTCHURCH, April 28. As tho result of a conference between the watersiders and the employers to-day, it is likely that work will he resumed on the Lyttelton waterfront to-morrow. Certain proposals, which have not been communicated to the press, were agreed to, and these will lie submitted to the members of tho union in the morning. It is anticipated that the men will accept tlie proposals, and that work will ho resumed. A further conference to discuss the matters in dispute will he held at Wellington next week.
