WESTLAND HOSPITAL BOARD
TUESDAY. APRIL 28th. SPECIAL MEETING. The Board met at 7 p.m. Present: Messrs' J. J. Breeze (chairman), T. W. Duff, G. H. Blank, G. Davidson, E. A. Wells and W. Jeffries. ANNUAL LEVY. The Westland County Council wrote accepting the proposed levy.—Received. The Secretary presented a revised levy due to sum of £lB7 18s 7d being wrongly placed to .the expenditure side instead of revenue. This meant a small reduction in the proposed levy wliidi affected each locnl body. The particulars of the revised figures show the total revised levy as £2362 15s 6d, subsidy £2951 6s 10(1. The local body payments will be:—■ Westland County £1517 8 7 Hokitika Borough .. ... 709 4 1 Kutnara Borough 41 15 1 Boss Borough 40 7 9 Mr Blank moved that the levy !>e struck. OTHER MATTERS. | From National Provident Dcpart--1 inent in reference to the superannuation of the hospital staff, the total premium being C-v 22 As Oil. of which the employees find £1(18 13s Od.—Received. - j it was resolved that the Board | approved of payment as from April Ist., authority being given to the SeI secretary to deduct the necessary ! amounts from the salaries of the staff each month.
From Sister AT. Burrell tendering resignation as sister. —Received; consideration deferred.
From Sister Alice Caldwell, tendering resignation as sistter.— Received and accepted with regret.
Messrs Blank and Davidson were authorised to sign agreements on behalf of the Board. Two applications for aid were received ; reports to he obtained in one instance, aend in the other referred to the Chairman to carry out the decision of the Board. The Bon'd resolved into Committee to deal with outstanding maintenance accounts.
