AY. Ileenan. The minutes were confirmed and correspondence received. NOMINATION'S. The following nominations were received : Senior Championship.—Hokitika. Junior Championship.—Araliura. Excelsiors, Kanieri. Kiwis, Ross.
Third Grade.—School, Ilium. Kiwis Excelsiors. Araliura.
Reclassification was asked for C. Marshall. P. Graves, T. Muir. K. Osmors. \Y. Flaherty by Ross Club and R. Übiety and D. Riedrich by Araliura Club.—Granted.
Mr Burns brought up the matter of the senior competition and stated the Kiwi players were prepared to stand in with the Hokitika team m the best interests of football. Mr Burns and Air Breeze asked leave to nominate Kiwi and Excelsior seniors. Leave was refused. Members discussed the whole position of the senior players with a view to improving the senior grade which with two clubs in the town will only repeal last season’s performances, instead ol improving the play and players. It was finally decided that a Hokitika team he nominated ami that Messrs Bannister, MrC'leary and I>. Dowell be the official selectors for the team and make every endeavour to get the team together as tliev will he required to play next Saturday. It was resolved the team play in red and black colon is. THE DR AAV. The draw for the first round for next Snturdav .May Ist, was as follows: JUNIORS. Excelsiors v. Araliura at Hokitika. Ross v. ' Tt was resolved to ask the AU, Coast Rugby Union to play the hi t senior game at Hokitika next Saturday. CUP FINAL CRUSH. [Australian & N.z”cablc Association.] LONDON, April 26. The Association Cup final provided exciting scenes. Excursion Mam* from the north began arriving in London at 3 o'clock in the morning. D> 7 o’clock, no less than one hundred and fifty trains had reached the metrophies. Many supporters of the players were dressed in suits, top hats >uid carrying iiulirollas made of the club colours. They included squads of Lancashire mill girls attired in shawls and wearing clogs. Seats in the Stadium were sold out months ago, which prevented many Lancastrians securing tickets. Touts did a roaring trade in selling 2s seats at from 10s to 18s. At this price the crowd resented the profiteering and chased the touts. They caught and roughly, handled two till the police rescued them. There were many noisy skirmishes between Bolton (anil Manchester supporters, in which the police had to intervene. The arrival and departure of the King was marked by universal demonstrations of loyalty.
