The “Daily News” propliesiscs that the Budget will include provision tor one shilling ill the pound oi a tax on crcdit-bettaig, and that it will provide for automobile taxation, based on increased revenue irom road users. Increased taxation on commercial mutors, jewels, and furs is also forecasted, and protective duties on lorcign commercial motors and wrapping papers. The “Daily News’ says tlieie is to be a live years extension of the Key industry duties. A reduction ol income tax or of general taxation is not anticipated. Some new revenue taxes, says the
“Daily News,” are probable. Mr Churchill will budget for a surplus, thereby meeting the coal emergency obligations from revenue, instead of from borrowing.
