£6,800 FORGERY. LONDON, Feb. 22, Warrants were issued yesterday by the City of London police for the arrest of two foreigners who are alleged to have obtained £6,800 in Bank of England notes on what is stated to he a forged bill of exchange from the Banco Espanol del Rio de la Plata, of Frenchureh-street, London, EX'. Early in the week the men went to tho hank and produced a letter of credit made out to Jose Maria Varela and Juan Carlos Solari, both described as Argentine subjects, and purported to have been issued by the First- National Banking Corporation of 100, Broadway. Boston, U.S.A. WATCH AT THE PORTS.

The two men entered the bank early this week and went through all the formalities necessary to obtain money on a letter of credit.

Subsequent inquiries resulted in the suggestion that the money had been obtained by forgery and, as a result of cablegrams to Boston and to Buenos Aires, it was decided to issue warrants for tho arrest of the two men to whom the money was paid.

City of London police are acting in conjunction with the Special Branch of Scotland Yard detectives who are stationed at the various ports and are in possession of the numbers of the missing notes,
