Following the Redhead Colliery disaster enquiry, the Crown bus decided to prosecute two of the mine employers, the cases commencing on Monday.' NEW GUINEA PROPERTIES. SYDNEY, April 23. Referring to tenders received for tho first group of expropriated properties in New Guinea, Air Bruce said, three tenders were received for the whole of the properties, and 322 for individual ones. These tenders came from GO persons or companies, of whom 34 werc| Australian soldiers. The tenders for a number of individual properties were satisfactory and as it appeared in the best interests of the territory it would he served by the establishment of many plantation owners. Cabinet lias decided to reject all three tenders that were submitted for the properties as a whole. Individual tenders, numbering about 20, will he accepted, where atender equals or exceeds the official valuation. Other tenderers who approximate the valuation will he negotiated with. In all forty-six plantations were offered and for forty-three of these tenders were received. The purchase money for the twenty plantations likely to he sold, amounts to £201.310 sterling. Eightv-seven trading stations were also offered and the tenders are to he accepted for fortyseven of them. -MELBOURNE, April 23.
