SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

AT MALFROY AXD CO’S RUSH. A serious accident happened this morning about 9 o’clock at .Messrs Malfroy and C'o’s sawmill tramline, A rail lira Road. It appears tliat Arthur Finch, a resident of Arahurn. was on a. truck in the hush with a number of loose iron rails on it. and a couple of trucks with logs ahead. The engine was pushing hack when the rails commenced to roll and Finch jumped off. He was caught by the falling rails' which struck him on the left log, smashing it very badly. At the knee, the leg is badly pulped, the flesh being torn away from the front of the leg between the knee and ankle, and the hone is broken in two places. The sufferer was removed to the Westland Hospital for treatment as soon as possible, but the young man was in a low stale from loss of blood and from shock so that it was not possible to do mu©’ more than' dress the wounds, the injuries being of a serious nature.
