Andrew’s backhand was weak, while his driving carried too much pace, and his service caused Kalins little trouble. Kalms was driv. ing nicely to Andrew’s rightband corner at the back of the court, compelling him to return tho ball to his racquet., Andrews caused a surprise after winning the third sot, alter a hard tight, and several times lie befit Ktilins on his service, a leal peiTormable by few players. Andrews, playing splendidly, took the first three games,- The score in this set read: 3-0, 3-1, 4-1, 4-2, 5-2, 0-3, 6-3, Andrews captured the final game, and the set, by a superb cross court drive, which landed on the side line, about three feet from the net;

Andrews fought hard in the filial set. Kahns took the first two games. Then Andrews equalled his score, and they seesawed till 1-4. when Kalms won the next games and the set. The players received an ovation for an excellent display. Andrews had improved out of sight in the latter part of the gilnie, and got- in many beautiful drives down the side line. Kalms was always oil his game, and gave nothing away; 'The score was 6-2, 6-1. 3-6, 6-4.

Andrews, by his tine fish Motion today, proved he is equal to the' New South Wales best players. He had made an excellent impression.

In the final of the Junior Singles Championship of New South Wales, Andrews had little difficulty in accounting for Hopmaii. He excelled him in all departments of the game. Andrew's powerful forehand drive and consistent, length se<■tired for him many points. Hopinail’s aert'ce was weak, and he put too much power tiOhind his drives. Andrews won 6-2. (5-2.
