A GOOD SEASON.
OPT LOGIC. IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, April 7. The recent mins, which in some port brought Hoods in their tinin, have given a brightness to the outlook where a month ago there was a feeling of pessimism. Reports in the Press indicate generally that business in the country is already improving, with the definite breaking of the dry spell, find that provision is being made in many places for improvements of property and for increased holdings of livestock. One strong indication of the changed outlook has been the improved prices for livestock. A few weeks ago, whe* the outlook was viewed with deep anxiety, store sheep could he purchased at 8s each. Thus does a good downpour of rain enhance values. Sheep which it was intended to hurry to market are now being held, and there have been wholesale cancellations of trucks. Again, the farmers who hold grain are ' selling freely. Their fears of a shortage during the next harvest have been relieved. Then, again, where there was something of a, tightness a little time back, money is available for all legitimate purposes, both in regard to commerce and manufacturing rural industries at reasonable rates of interest. The outlook generally is heartening. Perhaps the best indication of that to the city man has been the obvious buoyancy of the men who came down for the show' from the country and outback. Their lightheartedness could not be misunderstood.
