MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
GRKVAIOUTH. April 20. At the .Magistrate’s Court vesterday hefore Mr Aleklnmt. 5.. M.. the following cases were dealt with William A. C- Rose on a charge of drunkenness iut» lined 5s and on a charge' of breach of a prohibition order consideration was deferred.
Two charges .o' theft wore brought against William Glen, of Taylorville. It was alleged that, on March 11, lie stole (1) three packets ot cigarettes and a box of matches, of the total value of 2s (jd. the property of J. S. Nimnii). at Taylorville: and (2) that, on the same date, lit* stoic' one tin containing 50 packets of cigarettes, valued at £1 bs (id, also the property of J. - s . Ninitno. Defendant pleaded guilty, and on condition that restitution was made he was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called u]Kut within twelve months. On a charge of having an unregister, eel gun in his possession an immigrant who arrived from England last month was ordered to pay costs. Two Itoa. miners were charged, under Section 20 of the Coal Mines Act, with being in possession of smoking material in parts of the mine where snoftv lamps are used, were convicted and fined 5s with costs. raCTanncOTrnini^iwccwqTOlWffilCT
