Lastly, one of the heavy window sashes at Admiralty House fell on his forefinger necessitating amputation at the first joint.

The Australian horn to-day can expect fifty-nine years of life, also nineteen out of every hundred will reach their eightieth birthday compared with ten per cent thirty years ago. Among a multitude of factors contributing to this greater longevity, high places are given to improved surgery, dentistry and sanitation, and also better living and working conditions, athletics, better health and education generally.
