Six special trains from various dfilricts between Christchurch and Invercargill brought hundreds of one-day excursionists to the Exhibition on Saturday. Great interest was amused by the winning of the first prize ot live pounds for the 2.750,0001 h visitor, ns was proved by the huge attendance of forty thousand one hundred and eighty- . live. The prize was won about seven o'clock by Air I). Herbert, a railway - 1 employee, of Aliisgiel, a married man ‘ with three children, whose wife is to- t tally blind.
