THE COAL CRISIS

The Brussels correspondent of the Standard says: The International Aimers’ Federation has assured Afr Smith and Air Cook (the miners’ leaders) of their fullest support in the event of a stoppabe, and it has empowered a committee to call an international strike, if necessary. All international coal crisis will cause severe social conflict in tlie coalproducing countries, necessitating, in view of the Alinet's’ International, regulation of both coal production and distribution. LONDON. April IG. Political circles attach importance to the news from Brussels that the M*i tiers’ International Executive have resolved to support the British Illinois. The International Executive has undertaken. in the event of a British strike, to take all measures to prevent shipment of any Continental coal to Britain. If this leads io an international miners’ strike, no sectional settlement will then he recognised.
