WESTLAND RACING CLUB

COMMITTEE MEETING

Tho Committee met >at- the Cluli rooms at 8.30 o’clock last night. Present: Messrs AV. E. Williams (chair), R. Adamson, A. W- Ynrrall, J. Peake, F. McGregor, O. J. Sellers, J. J. Mc--lii tosh, M. Houston, H. A. Thompson,. H.' Rutland aiul D. J. Evans. The minutes of the previous meeting were confirmed.

The Treasurer read the statement of ■accounts in connection with the late race meeting, showing receipts £l4!‘ 7s Gd, and expenses,£l397 4s Gd. Various items of revenue were discussed, after which tho statement was adopted. and the accounts passed for payment. Satisfaction was expressed that tlie meeting had paid its way,, a result which wa-s very pleasing in the circumstances.

Votes of thanks were passed to the Municipal Ehnd for kindly assisting at the meeting - free of charge; also to Mr j. A. Murdoch for assistance. A vote of thanks was passeil also to Mr T. E. Y. Sedilon for 1 a further donation of trees.

The N.Z. Racing Conference notified the amiiial conference would be held on July 7th., and Invited notices of motion for the meeting.■—Rc r eeived.

Other circulars from tho and other matters were received. The Chairman referred to the excellent condition of the racing track and grounds for the late meeting, and praised the consistently good work of the’caretaker. A vote of thank's was passed to 0. Fowler. Suggestions to top dress the racing track with sand, and to enquire as to the cost of tarring in the vicinity of the totalisntor were approved, and the necessary Action will >,<* taken. Various matters of detail were discussed add the meeting rose at 9.40 o’clock.
