The servants discovered two rooms locked, and Mr Drake’s 21-yoars-old-son. Ben. climlied up the stackpipe as the burglar had previously done and entered one of the rooms: 1 lie police waited below in case of developments, hut the thief had gone. Four rooms on the first floor had been ransacked, hut the burglar missed a bug containing £ls in notes and several valuables, “My son climbed up the pipe into his room because the policemen and our chauffeur were too heavily built,” Mrs Drage said to a reporter yesterday. “Ft was a risky thing to do, las we did not know if the thief had gone and wo were all relieved when he found the room empty. Among the articles stolen were a diamond oval shape watch and diamond brooch.
