AGAINST DICTATOR. [Australia «& N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, April 9, Advices have been received here from Athens that Major Bakird.ii, Major Kurakoufa, and Major /.etas led a mutiny of a small number of troops who occupied Barabourmi, in the Gulf of Salonika. Karabourmi was then sou iron nded, and the fleet was ordered to Salonika, It was subsequently announced that tho mutineers had surrendered.
Tho. Greek censorship has prevented an accurate appraisinent of the situation, which, however, is reflected hi the latest mails, which contain anticipations of excitement on the occasion of tho Presidential election, alleging that M, Plastiras ( who was the leader of the revolution of 1922, and was last year expelled from the country) had clandestinely recrossed the frontier, the mnils also crediting him with engineering a seditious movement. ATHENS, April 9. Tho wires were set buzzing with naval and military orders throughout the country on the receipt of news of the Salonika outbreak.
At midnight troops from Athens were immediately entrained to Salonika, and other garrisons were instructed to he prepared. The fleet sailed at five o’clock in tho morning, with orders to shell the insurgents, if necessary. All the malcontents later .surrendered. and the ring-leaders were despatched to Athens for court-martial. A comniuiiique says that tlie insurgents do not exceed four hundred. The officers are reported to have declared that the movement did not aim at tlie Government, blit at the heads of the army at Salonika.-
