TUESDAY, APRIL 13th. ' NOTICES OF MOTION. 1. The Chairman to move:—“That the accounts presented for the month ol March, 1926, as revised and recommended for payment by the l'inance Committee, amounting to £ be passed for payment.” 2. The Chairman to move: —“That the necessary resolution be adopted empowering the Council to borrow by way of overdraft from the Bank of New Zealand, a sum not exceeding £4,500, such overdraft to bo secured by revenue outstanding and uncollected as at 31st March, 1926.” 3. Tho Cfhnirman tV> move :—“That the list of proposed new works for application for Government grants, as prepared by Overseer Millner, now before the Council, be approved, with such additions as may he thought necessary and application he made for the inclusion of the works in the Public Works Estimates for 1926-27.” *l. The Chairman to move: —“Thatthe report of the Treasurer as before the Council on the proposed allocation of estimated revenue for the current financial year, be now considered and adopted.” 5. Cr Donovan to move :—“ That the roadman be authorised to employ a man to assist him for a ■ fortnight, cleaning and repairing Bird. Whale and Rotokino roads, Watara District.” .ADJOURNED NOTICES OF MOTION 1. Tho Chairman to move :—"That the Council proceed to consider tile following proposal for submission to the ratepayers of the Southern Riding at- a poll to be taken oil Wednesday, May 12th. 1926, (in conjunction with the triennial election of councillors fixed for that day) namely:— fa) That a special loan lie raised by the County Council of Westland for the purpose of contributing subject to arrangement with the Highways Board towards the erection of bridges over Deep Creek, McCullough Creek, McDonald’s Creek and Potter’s Creek on the main south highway whereby the erection of tlie bridges will be speeded up and completed witihn a period of two years.
(b) The sum proposed to be borrowed be £1.500.
(c) The proposed security for provision for repovlll.ent, of the loan he a special rate of one-tenth of a penny in the £ on the rateable property in the Southern Riding of the County. The rate of interest of the said loan shall not exceed six pounds per centum per annum. The term of the loan to be for a period of fifteen years, principal repayable at the rate of £IOO per annum on the first day of November in each and every year. (d) It is not proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan. (c) It is not intended to levy the rate in question but to repay principal and interest out of the General Account of the County Fund.” 2. The Chairman to move:—“That subject to the foregoing motion being agreed to, the Returning Officer he instructed to take the necessary steps under the “ Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” and its amendments, to place the proposal before the ratepayers for their consideration.”
