COAL STRIKE. NEWCASTLE. April G, At a meeting of the Newcastle branch of the Engine Drivers and Firemen's Federation. the men’s nrievnnees were discussed and dissatisfaction was expressed at the award granted by the Coal Commission. It was decided to recommend at two aggregate meetings to he held on the coalfields, that, fourteen days’ notice be given of their intention to strike. The intention was expressed at the meeting that the men were going to attempt to stop all work at the whole of the ecal-fieldk in the State. A meeting on the Maitland field carried a similar motion.
