The numerous friends will regret to learn of the death of Mr John Evans Walton, who, last evening, passed ocacefullv away at the residence of his mother, Chapel Street, Greymoutli, after an illness lasting some time. The deceased, who was the eldest son of Mrs Mary Walton, was 38 years of age, and a native of Grevmouth, and lie leaves a wife (formerly Miss Maggie Mason, of Ross) and one daughter, while he is also survived by three sisters (Mrs D. Fraser, of Hawern, Mrs Worthington, of Palmerston North, and Miss Maud Walton, of Greymoutli), and two brothers (Messrs Leslie Walton, of Brunner, and Allen Walton of Greymoutli). The late Mr Walton, whose genial disposition won him a wide circle of friends, worked for the Grevmouth Harbour Board ns carpenter, and for the Trotting Club while he was engaged up till his illness in the employ of. Messrs Stuart and Chapman, sawmillers at Ross.
