MURDER MYSTERY.
[Australian * N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON. March 31. A mysterious murder has boon revealed in the burning of the country mansion which was known as “Laniniichu,” close to Dublin City, which was owned and occupied by Messrs .Joseph and Peter McDonnell, their two sisters, a rerrant and a gardener. Early in the morning, somo workmen observed the mansion ablaze. Oil tho arrival of the fine brigade, they found the body of the gardener in a room in the basement, with large wounds on the head. ILder McDonnell was found naked in a. back room, with his clothes spread over his dead body. Joseph McDonnell was found dead in another room in tho upper part of tho mansion, which was ablaze, flic
mansion also contained the practically cindered bodies of the sisters.
It is impossible to toll whether nnylodv attacked. The outer doors were
barred. It appears that tho Are was started in different rooms on the ground floor and spread to the upper rooms. The McDonnells were reputedly wealthy. The police believe that oiw of the brothers lost his reason, and that, having set Arc to the promises !*e then attacked tho occupants.
