BOY SCOUTS

Tlio Committee of the Second Hokitika. Troop are anxious that as many ns possible of the parents and friends of the scouts and cubs liould get out. to Lake Alahinapua. next Saturday fop the Scout and Cub picnic. The majority of those attending are expected to travel by the usual SaJitSmay trains though there will probably'be also a certain proportion of cyclists in the party. This is the one big opportunity of the year for everyone connected with the troop and pack to get into touch, and it is hoped that, granted lino weather, the attendance may be as complete ns possible. Tuesday April 13th, will see the quarterly meeting of the Second 1 roop Committee to which all parents are specially invited. April 23rd, ,-t. George’s Day, is the Scouts special festival and plans for its proper observation arc in hand. The Second. Pack report a fair number of new members joining lately but as a record number of Cubs reach Scout age this year a few more recruits to fill their places call still be accepted. The bovs of this Pack have just formed a Football Club and will be pleased to fix dates with any other teams in the district which are confined to hoys under twelve years of age.
