ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday Another exceptional entry and again mostly North Island and travelled sheep. Not many lambs or wethers were entered and both classes sold exceptionally well, showing an advance on last wook.
Store sheep--Fives, however, were easier all round, especially for travelled sorts and were anvtliiug irom 2s to ■ls down. Two-tooHi Romney cross ewes 25 lo 325, medium 20 to 2-ls, 4. < ami 8-1 oth ditto 23s to 80s, others down to 10s.
Rest lambs 21s to 21s. medium 18s to 20s fid. others io 12s. Best wethers 24s to 27s Od. medium 21s to 235. others down to 18s. A large portion of the entry was passed at auction, hut in most eases were subsequently sold.
Store cattle—A medium entry, mostly nondescript lots, and really no quotable linos offering.
Eat pigs—A large entry, over 600 porkers and baconers being yarded. 'l'lie market for porkers was irregular and juices wore easier, also the same apjrlies in the bacon department. Values—Light- porkers 50s to 60s, heavy 02s to 70s, average 9d to 9jd; light, baconers £4 to £4 10s. heavy £5 to £5 10s. extra to £6 ss: average price 81 d to 9d per Tf). Choppers C 3 10s to £7 10s. Stow- pigs—About 400 wore yarded and the sale thoughout was disappointing. Values for all Masses were easier and for wen tiers slips and small stores it, was difficult to make sales. Values— Wen tiers 6s fo 12. s fid. slips 15s to 225. small stores 24s to 28, medium 30s lo 365, large 4os to 555. Beef -Only a medium yarding, notmany steers being offered. One line of about 50 North Islanders wore in, hii(. hardly up to the usual standard, and averaged £l2 7s Pd. The market generally was .easier, about 20s per bond, hut for any good prime quality this drop was not so applicable. Prime steers £l4 to £l7. extra to £lB 7s fid; medium £9 10s to £l3; others to C 6 6 1 Prime heifers £8 5s to £lO 10s; extra to £ll 17s fid; medium £6 to £8; others to C 4 15s. Prime cows £7 to £9 ss; extra to £ls 12s fid: medium £5 5s to £6 15s; others to £3 12s. Mutton—A large yarding, again mostly ewes. The market opened firm but as the sale progressed prices eased somewhat and generally speaking were about Is to Is fid below last- week. Prime wethers 31s 5d to Bis fid: extra to 39s 4d -. medium 28s 6d to 31s: others down to 25s fid. Prime ewes 2-ls to 275. extra to 28s. Bd. medium 20s to t?3.=s Od. lighter Ifis to 19s fid. others to 17s 6d.
Fat lambs—A small yarding, but- the market was very firm and well up to schedule. Prime quality up to IOJd, overall and the market looks as if it will remain firm.
