DA VID COPPERFIE LD—'TO-NIGHT. This picture is a wonderful film version of a classic novel. The beautiful love story immortalized by Charles Dickens has been interpreted by a master hand with a wealth and detail which makes it stand out far above any previous adaption of the famous novelist’s work. The film is produced with extraordinary reverence for the Dickon's traditions. Every typo of picture-goer will desire to see it t at once, and again, and thoroughly enjoy its sentiment and humanity. Woven, as it is, around a story so simple, so full of heart throbs, and so typically English. “The l.ove Story of David Coppertield'’ is a photoplay which must bring prestige and dignity to whomsoever is identified with it. “ David (.'opperlield ” the personal history and experience of Dickens himself, 'his joys and sorrows, vicissitudes and victories —.has touched the hearts of thousands. Presented as it is in this film it wil undoubtedly charm and fascinate all. There are the old-fashioned gowns, the quiet country roads, the picturesque, quaint, narrow streets, with houses with large knockers on the doors, the coal .fires which heated only their section of the room, the heavy furniture and Nottingham, lace curtains, and the dear old milkman without a thought of hygiene, nobody can fail to notice these details. What a relief if is even to see ITinh Deep in all his palm-rubbing, alter some of the productions with, jazz and awful triangle complications! Mr Deep may bo a little heavy, according lb) our mental picture of hint, but he mftres one think that, after all, perhaps. no two persons would ever agree on what Dickens’ characters looked like. The direction and photography are without a flaw. It seems that carefid study was made of every detail before filming began, tattle David is played by an exceptional child actor.
