LONDON, .March 29. In the Mouse of (.'oinmoii-s, in draiving attention to the inter-departmental committee’s report, making important recommendations in respect to migration, -Mr Kinlock Cooke asked if it acre proposed to take any action to modify the Dominions’ restrictions upon assisted passages, the Mon L. Amery said the report had been forwarded to the Dominions' Governments who must he the Ix.-st judges'of such matters. The whole question would be discussed at the Imperial Conference. Mr Day asked whether the authori-

ties would hold an inquiry into the allegations that the Waimana, which was used to convey migrants to New Zealand, was totally unfitted for the purpose and that nine hundred passengers were crammed into ill-ventilated six berth cabins and that there were only nine baths for the whole of the

migrants. Mr Burton Chadwick said the WaL mana had been surveyed and complied with the regulations. -Mr Day asked if Mr Hinton Chadwick had' received a- complaint from 250 passengers that the ventilation was had and the food abominable; also that towards the end of the voyage twopence was charged for a glass of water.

Mr 'Burton Chadwick replied in the negative, hut stated that when details wero supplied he would have then investigated. Mr Gee asked if ho would get the regulations altered and .Mr Burton Chadwick replied that he was not aware that they were had as they proved satisfactory in many ships.
