SON COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. SYDNEY, March 50. At the inquest on the death, of Alexander Strong, who was killed following a family quarrel and in consequence of whose death his sou. Bruce Strong, was arrested and charged with murder, evidence was given by the son Alexander, who said that deceased used to threaten to blow tile family’s -brains out. He gave instances of acts of cruelty by bis father to members of the family.
The Coroner said that although the evidence showed the deceased was a- remarkably cruel man and became practically maniac when under tile influence of liquor, lie could not define the accused's action as anything other than murder and committed him for trial.
.MAN SHOT DEAD. MELBOURNE, March 29. Following upon a quarrel between James McDonald and Mrs Angrovo, both of whom were employed oil the Glcnholt Station, Wvoheoroof, McDonald was fatally shot with n shot gun. Later on Arthur Angrovo, the husband of Mrs Angrovo- was arrested on a charge of murder. It is alleged that both McDonald and Mrs Angrovo were quarrelling in the kitchen of the station, and that when McDonald forced the woman’s head under the lap her husband beard her erics for help, and immediately alter lie entered the kitchen, tTie shooting occurred. .•
