ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

RISK IX BEEF AND LAMBS. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Hay. Messrs H. Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store sheep—Another large entry, lint hardly a> big as hist week. There were not so litany lambs and the largest proportion of entry comprised foreign ewes. Owing to the recent rains the market was (inner for lambs .and also any decent wethers. Ewes, however, which ware in big supply, were hardly as firm, although any good classes sold well right to the end. It is really impossible to quote- prices n-s the yarding comprised such a mixed entry. However, we can confidently report a firm sale throughout!. There are still several North Island shipments advised to come forward, lmt from the tone of the market to-day it looks as ii they can easily he a 1 sorbed.

Store cattle A medium yarding and with the exception of one line of rough 3-year old steers at £5 Is and another nice line of .‘l-year ditto at £8 there were really no other quotable linos offered, odd cows and nondescript lots making up the hulk of the entry and sold at current prices.

Reef—Another large yarding and the quality all round was very indifferent. About 185 head were yarded. The market' was genernllv firmer and showed an advance of 25s to 30s net- head. Any prime well-finished entile showed a decided improvement. Prime steers made £l4 to £ls 17s fid. extra to £lB 17s Gd. medium £ll to £lll 10s, lighter to £B, prime heifers £8 to £9 17s Gd, extra to £l2 15s. medium £6 5s to £7 15«, others to £4 15s. prime cows £8 to £9 10s. extra, to £l3 2* Gd. medium £5 15s to £7 10s. others lo £3.

Mutton —A fair yarding. mostly owes. There was a keen safe throughout and exporters were, operating extensively. evidently t.lv' rise in fat lambs being reflected in the mutton market. AYe should sav there was a general rise of Is to Is Gd all round on the last sale. Prime wethers may Ills Gd to 355. extra to 39s Id. medium 27s to 31s. others down to 25s Gd. prime owes 23s to 27s Gd, extra, to 3.3 s 4d. medium 19s Lo 22s Gd. others to 17s.

Fat pigs—2Bo porkers were yarded and the market opened firm at last week’s prices and held throughout. Values were: Light porkers 47s fe Gss, heavy 70s to 80s, average 9-Jd to IO.Vd. Baeoners —A very large yardic including a big quota from the Coast. Values all through were slightly easier than last week, showing a general decline of from J-d to Id per lb. Values Light bncoii.Ts £4 to £4 10s, heavy £4 15s to £5 10s, extra to ,£G 10s. Store pigs—About 400 were yarded and the market all through was easier. AA'cancrs, slips and small stores wore neglected, except at greatly reduced prices, flood medium and large stores sold well at slight reduction on late rates. Values: AVea tiers 8s to 15s, slips 22s to 2Gs. small stores 27s to 335, medium 35s to 38s. large 455. to 555. Fat lambs—A small yarding. Exporters were operating keenly and the marker was up Is to Is Gd per head. Present schedule rates were more than maintained, prime lambs up to 3Glhs making fullv 10s overall.
