SEPARATING OIL FRO At WATERLONDON, Jan. 26. A dehydrator for the separation of fluids, such as oil and water, was shown in action yesterday at Shirley, near Croydon. Tt- is claimed for the dehydrator that it.s use in ships for separating the oil from the water in the discharges from the bilges and tanks of oil-driven vessels before they are pumped into the sea would prevent the pollution of tire navigable waters, the fouling of the beaches at seaside aud bathing resorts, and the destruction of sea and bird life.
