WAT'A BOA AUTUMN SALE. M. (Houston and Co report:—The. annual autumn sale of I'af and store stock was hold in the above yards tin Tuesday. Kith .March, the total valuing comprising about :i()l> sheep and K2O head of cattle, ol which our entry cott-Asted of I Id sleep ami IS-d Iliad of cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers and although several of the
larger graziers were not competing, a total clearance was made at very satisfactory prices. Values were much lower than iho.-.c ruling at (he last ! fixture at these yards, which is somewhat surprising owing to (lie splendid prospects for lat stock in the spring. The cattle from the far south were as usual a particularly good lot. especially a line of IN three-year-old bullocks from .Mr K. ('. Cron which realised (.'ll Ids lid. ami a pen of twelve three-year-old steers Iron! Messrs Nolan liras which made L'l I. There was only a poor demand for sheep and several pens were passed in. Ctinn. if fat heifers at Cfi 2s fid ; on account of Harris liras, fi 21yr. steers at Cfi 17s fid. A at Cfi 17s fid, 1 stag at Cfi 7s fid. S fa fi heifers at Co 10s; on account of N. 11. Drown fi 21 yr. steers at Co IDs. S empty cows at C2 10s; oil account of Nolan Urns. 12 fi yr. steers at Cl 1, o 2 to 21 yr. steers at C 7. K fat boilers at C 7 Ins, I at Co o.s; on account of A. Hcveldt 12 empty cows at Cfi os, o steers at Cfi 12s (id; on account of higgling liros. fi yr. steers at .CD os, o empty cows at Co 7s fid ; on account of duo. Mcßride 111 2.1 to fi yr. steers at CD 7s fid.

After taking into consideration the recent wot weather, the shortage of feed, and the absence of bush burns this year, the sale throughout. should he considered a satisfactory one. although the demand and the attendance of buyers was not as good as last year and the bidding was a little erratic at times. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report tho following is a range of the prices; —- (food 21 and fil-vr. old .steers up to £ll : good 2}-yr. old steers from £7 ]2s fid to CS 17s fid; smaller old steers from Cfi 7s fid to £7; 2^-yr. old heifers from £o to £7; fat cows up to £8 2s fid : fat bullocks £lO 7s fid.
