FLEXIBLE GLASS. LONDON, Jan. 26. Further details about flexible glass, invented by two Viennese scientists, Dr Fritz Poliak and Dr Kurt Pipper, are given by “Motor” to-day. It is claimed that this invention provides a very simple method of making products having the transparency of glass, “resilent, insoluble to the highest degree, insensitive to differences in temperature.” The inventors state that they can make a vicious, syrupy mass, which can be moulded to almost, any desired shape, and can then he hardened hy heating, the final product being clear and transparent. It is also said that by varying the composition and processes the material can be made into a colourless lacquer, which could be used ns a varnish to confer a hard and durable finish upon paintwork. |
