Lloyd apologising for absence.—Received and accepted. From Westland County Council notifying deputation in respect to the bridges for South Westland.— Received. Mr Jeffries explained the position and introduced the deputation consisting of Messrs Chesterman. Duff and Frans. The members of the deputation represented the matter, and asked that a poll bo taken 011 the proposal to raise £.590 by loan. Air Parry move:! that n special meeting of the Finance Committee he held to consider the matter. Mr King seconded.—Carried. It was decided to hold the meeting on Tuesday evening next at 7 o’clock.
