The weather was perfect and the wicket in fair condition. The visitors won the toss, but failed to make the most of their opportunity, being disposed of for the very moderate total of 127, the only batsman to make a stand being Robertson 25, J. Scholium 18, G. Lockett 15, S. Reeves U. Bornean took (i wickets for Id. I readwell 3 for 2d.
Wanganui at the drawing of stumps had scored C 8 without loss. Orr 38, Wood 27.
The Hawk Cup match was resumed )to-dny in fine weather. Wanganui, with G 8 runs up without loss, continued, but made a poor showing, all being out for 100 (Orr -12. Wood 7f>, Eernau 31. Cave not out IS). Williams 17.
Ellis took six wickets for .57. At lunch Poverty Bay had lost two wickets in the second innings for 31.
