Nolhwithstanding German newspaper reports of changed attitude of Germany it is understood that she is adamant in opposing the election ol the League Council of other candidates before herself. The Council held a heated debate at (its secret 'sitting mf three hours.
M. Fndin (Sweden) angrily pounding the table refused to accept any addition to the Council, except Germany; whereupon M. Mellofranco (Era/,ill announced he was instructed to retire from the League, but first to vote against Germany unless Erac.il was granted a permanent seat.
