QUESTIONS IN COMMONS. [Australian A- N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, March 8. In the House of Commons, Viscount Sandon asked what was tho Alinistry’s attitude to the appeal in connection with the N.S.M’. constitutional crisis. Air Amery said the State’s memorial thereon had not been received. Air Hurd asked what steps were being taken to restore harmony on tho Pacific Cable Board. Mr Amery said lie entirely sympathised with Air Hurd’s object. Personally he would do his utmost to arrange a settlement. Air Garr-J ones asked whether tho Dominions were invited to express their views regarding an adhesion to tho Locarno Pact, and if not, whether tlicv would he betore the British ratification was lodged at Geneva. Air Amery' said the whole matter would he discussed at a Imperial Conference. Air Thomas: “Will you lay tho papers on tho table?”
AH Amery; “No. Such a coqyjMjjj'; cation would lead to a decision * policy, which would make publieauon undesirable.” AH MacDonald: “Are not these m the nature of despatches, which, in the end, ought to he published?” Air Amery: "I am not sure on that point. It must depend on the Dominions.”
Air Thomas: “Will you ascertain their views on publication, and, if they acquiesce, will you make a statement?” . Alt- Amery: “I will consider it. but T must consult the Foreign Secretary.” , . AH Loeker-T.ampson, replying to Sir Newton Moore stated he had no information regarding the decision ot the Amiens City Council to auction war trophies, including Big Bertha, captured bv the Australians at Cliuignolles in 'l9lß. and presented to Amiens in memory of tho Australian defence thereof. Even if tho sale were projected, it was not a mat tel where in tho Government with propriety intervene.
