Vendors. however, were not disposed to accept the reported sales and .vest. wday certain buyers were on the point of sending their fat cattle to Addington. which announcement bucked the bidding up a bit and a total clearance was made. Brices, per hundred were, if any tiling, slightly better than last fixture, the quality being good. There was again a large entry of cows and heifers, some of which were extra prime. The yarding of sli#?op was particularly good. Messrs AA . Jeffries and -o. sold a- follows : On account of Mr IL OLlerog. 1 cow at £5 15s. 1 ditto at £4, 1 venler £3 Is. On account Air X. Friend. 2 bullocks at £l3. 2 ditto at £l2. 2 ditto at £lO 15s. 2 steers at £9 os. 1 ditto at £7 10s. 1 heifer at £9 os. 2 ditto at £7 12s Od. 3 ditto at £6 os, 1 at £O, 2 ditto at- .Co 17s fid. 1 ditto £5 2s Od. On account ATr -las Davidson, 1 cow at £9. 1 heifer at 9 19s. 1 at £9 7s od. 1 at £3. 3 steers at £9. 2 ditto £3 7s fid. 2 ditto at £7 12s Gd. On account Afr X. Friend. 09 wethers at 28s Od. 1.0 lambs at 255." There was an excellent entry of breeding ewes, front the North Island, for which there was restrict, ! petition. The sheep had every appearance of hoing much travelled, but were large framed and exceedingly close woolled. At competition they did not reach the vendor's reserve, but subsequently two pens were sold at 30s.
