A one mile scratch, race, in whicu five men started was won by Nicholson of Auckland, who got a jump in the last half lap. while Holder and 0 Mica were watching each other and tins enabled Nicholson to in by a wheel from O’Shea, who beat Horder l>y inches. Time 2.24 3-5. , „ O’Shea got the verdict against Holder bv a wheel in winning the three lap open race, but Horder easily disposed of all opponents in the sprint race of one lap, in which he was giving away up to seventy yards.
