The .Methodist t'oiiference granted status in Rev. K. S. Darkness dating from 191(5. and gave permission to Bov. A. Peters to visit England during the year, and decided to appoint an assistant to the President, who shall he paid hv a grant in equal proportions from Hit' Home Mission and contingent funds. The stationing committee recommended that the following lie the circuits to take ordained ministers in the following order:—Opitiki. Inglewood. Hokitika, and Ekctalnina.
The conference up-pointed the Rev. If. A. Rugby-Prait as Connexionnl Secretary in succession to the Rev. S. I,awry. Mr Pratt will take over the office in 1927.
The report of the Dunedin Central Mission was read by the Rev. NY. Walker. Superintendent of the .Mission. The report stated that the trust debt had been reduced by £IOOO during the year. A tribute was paid to the work of the Rev. NY. Walker in naval and military matters. The Rev. C'. Olds was appointed representative to the northern command. Rev. (’. Eaton to headquarters, and the central command, the Rev. NY. Walker to the southern command. Mr NN a 1 leer also holds the position of Secretary to the Chaplains’ Board. Rev. S. Lawry presented the fire insurance report, which now possesses assets amounting to £I9.O!YX). This fund lias been able to materially to help other funds, amounting to £-2,200 in seven years. The Rev. S. l.awry was appointed authorised representative and custodian of deeds.
