The motor e.vde races, to be run under the. auspices of the (ireymoutli Motor Cycle Club on Saturday, Alarcli Iblli. promise to ho even a greater success than last, year’s big meeting. A large number of entries are coining in from Christchurch. Nelson, Blenbciui. and the North Island. Jneliulod amongst those who will be competing is I). Alanagli, who is recognised as Coleman s greatest rival. He rides a 7-9 llarley-David.soii, and has recently won several of the big races in the North. Island. Jloaro, the champion from Christchurch. is also expected to he over. I his rider recently broke Coleman’s rioords on the Blenheim track. lie rides a Douglas evcli-. which, being a small machine, In- is capable of putting up faster time on the small track at Oinuto. than the big machine ridden by Coleman last year. Besides the large number of entries from outside, all the Toast’s best riders will be amongst those competing. (liven fine weather, this meeting will, no doubt, 1,,.- the greatest event of tho year, and should attract, even a bigger crowd than last year. A booth, afternoon tea and sweet stall, have all been arranged for. and the (Ireymoutli Afunie||sal Band will make their first appearance after their great success at Ihe recent contest. There will be excursion rates on the trains from all parts of the Coast, and all trains will he delayed until alter the races. On the night before the races. Friday. March 12i.1i. a ••Speed” Ball will be held in honour of the visiting riders, which will be conducted in the usual first-class manner.
