At the Supreme Court trial of Leonard Charles Davis, driver of the motor lorry which killed Ernest Thomas White, who was one of a party on the vehicle when returning to Hamilton from the Waipa. races at To Awnmiiiu on December 12th. the jury returimd a verdict cl guilty with a strong recomincndariou in mercy on account uf accused’s previmis excellent, charaeler and sober habits. A sentence of six months' impiisoninent was imposed. WIG, LI NGTO X SEXT EX CF.S. WELLINGTON’. Fch. 20. At the Supreme Court, the following prisoners were sentenced to-day: Marguerelito Griffin Fisher, theft, probation for two years. William Thomas Mount, theft, three months' hard ahour on one charge, uni on the others, ordered to conic up for sentence if called upon. Walter Honey, theft, .six months’ laird labour.
