allegations against GOVERNMENT. 'CHKISTCJTUR.Cn, Fob. 20. A conlierencc of the Hour millers' representative of both Islands was held to-day in camera. Subsequently a report was issued to the press, in which it was .stated that the Government scheme provides for legislation differentiating between fowl and milling wheat. Further, it was held that the Government scheme deliberat'd.! closed the Now Zealand mills in favun of the Australian mills.

The report went on to outline? the aiders last minute offer to the Government, as follows:-

(I)—The millers guaranteed not to increase the present prices of flour, jran and pollard.

(2) Millers guaranteed to pay the farmers minimum prices of Os Bd., 0s 10d and 7s f.o.b, and to undertake to huv and take delivery of the whole of the crop by June 192 G. (3) - The Government to impose the embargo on Australian flour and import the deficiency of wheat for poultry and milling purposes. The millers (Tainted the. following advantages for their scheme : —(11 The general public are protected, the prices of tlour and ’.broad remaining the same. (2: —The dairy and poultry industries were benefits—(a) the present favourable prices of £8 for bran and £9 for pollard, f.o.b. continued; (lit the supplies of offal were assured in the country; (31 New Zealand mills and workers would he kept going full time.
