To-day was expected to have liven a hie day at the Exhibition as. in addition to brass bauds events, there was a one-dav contest for pipe hands, for which thirteen had entered, jho quickstep was got ~|f j,, the forenoon in tin, v.vather, hut rain set in til mid-day, and the remaining events had to he contested inside, instead of cm the sports ground. The attendance for the day will therefore probably n. i i nuie up to expect at ions.
Tim s, dm.il children from Christchurch. v.!is.- arrived on .Monday, were oliitially welcomed in the .New /calami .'secondary Industries Pavilion yesterday. The President. Air .
