A telegram from Sydi.'y (Nova Scotia) states that miners in District 26, have voted against the- proposed new agreement with the British F.mpiio Steel Corporation hv a majority of 3785. In each of five sub-districts, the referendum was overwhelmingly against the acceptance, thus indicating the attitude of the miners regarding the __ no check-off clause which t’i* Corporation has embodied in the agreement. The vote was:—For, 1,170; Against, 1 -1.905. PLANES UNEQUAL TO POLAR WORK. XEW YORK, Feb. Cnpt. U. Amundson holds no hope of the sucres sof Polar expeditions reiving upon airplanes. He said that exponento has taught him that- airplanes are not dependable for a long -C Polar flight. No airplane was safe enough for that purpose.
