A serious outbreak of lire occurred at about 11.30 p.m. tot Saturday, when the Te Kinga Land and Timber Co.’s No I mill narrowly escaped total destruction. The fire was tirst noticed from the hall, where a dance was in progress, and on the alarm being given many of those present raced to the scene over hall a mile distant.
