Ilis first Paramount appearance was in the George Melford production, ‘‘The Dawn of a To-mor-row.” shown at the Princess Theatre hut a short time ago. In this picture Griffith has a serious part to play, but ill "Changing Husbands'’ it’s a different story. "Changing Husbands,” an adaption of the Saturday Keening Post serial. ‘■'Roles.” is a comedy pure and simple, with Griffith portraying a role just the opposite to the one lie had in "The Dawn of a. To-morrow.’’ As a rule a goad dramatic actor makes a poor comedian, and vice versa, lint Griffith is an exception. Versatility is his middle name, and when you see ‘‘Changing Husbands.” you'll more than agree with us. ZaStl Pitts and -Julia Kaye are also prominent in the supporting cast of the production, which includes among other big names. Helen Dunbar and William Bovd. The picture was produced by Frank Ursou and Paid Tribe under the personal supervision of Cecil B. De Mille. A good comedy and “Beasts of Paradise” serial, complete the hill to-night. One of the most successful musical comedies ever produced by .1. C. Williamson, 1,ti1., is "Are You a Mason?” Its reputation as a mirth provoker is world-wide, and it certainly possosos a most irignal plot combined with the most humorous situations. Hokitika will he lucky to enjoy it. Two men one the father-in-law, the other the son-in-law, are through certain domestic circumstances compelled to pretend that they are Freemasons, and each carefully watches the other for secret
signs, etc., so that lie might reply " itil similar signs. As neither man has any idea ol Masonry much loss the secret signs of the .Masonic Order tß'-ir actions bring forth screams of laughter. Seme bright musical gems and characteristic, dances help to make “Are You a .Mason:-'” one of the best musical comedies over produced. The company is under the management of D. B. O’Connor, and he is supported h.v a full east of principals- who have leeently broken all records in Australia with "Are You a Mason?” The season here is for one night only. The box plan opens on Monday morning at Miss Mclntosh's. The east is a strong metropolitan one and the plav is making new records in the reni res.
