An invitation has also been extended to the J’rime Minister. the Tfon. .1. O. Coates, to ho present. The secretary, Afr .T. A. Beevor. reports very satisfactory entries for the .Jubilee sports. So far a total ol 31*> entries have been received and JoO competitors have entered for the big events. Among the entrants for the various events are Don McLennan, the New Zealand champion sprinter. Jack Henderson, 11. Barnard. K. C. Cameron, R. AV. Christensen, R. C. .CJracie, and other well-known runners and cyclists. Entrants for the axemen’s events include Bannister Bros.. TCoeti Bros., E Mitchell' (who figured prominently at the Dunedin axemen’s carnival), and 1\ Brereton, the treble winner at last Saturday’s Paroa sports.
