MEETING FRIDAY. SPAIN TO GET PER A! ANE NT SEAT. "Australia * N.Z. Cable Association.] LONDON, Feb. 10. A meeting of the Loagua of Nations Council has been summoned at Geneva for Friday. It will he a brief one. merely for the purpose of fixing a date for the special Assembly at which Germany's application will he considered. It probably will Ire the fifth of March when Sir Austen Chamberlain. Al. Briand, Dr Strescmann and Herr Wiitliei are expected to attend and to remain for the Afnrch Session of the League Council, beginning on the eighth of March. There are possible difficulties over Germany’s admission, as another Power seeks to enter the Council. The “Morning Posts’s” Geneva colrespondent says: “The most reliable authorities indicate that Spain is certain to Ik? given a permanent seat on the Council simultaneously with Germany. while Poland is also pressing her claims. She is backed up by both France and Japan.
