EARAI. LABOURER INJURED BLENHELM. February 10. George Gale, married, a farm labourer. whilst mounting a hayrake al Grovctown was thrown to the roadway, owing to the horse bolting. One foot caught in the rake and the man was dragged for over a quarter of a mile before the horse was stopped. Gale suffered extensive lacerations to his shoulder, arms, head and leg. being hospitallcd.

On a charge of trespassing on the Gisborne Racing Club’s property, while the races were in progress, Charles William Russell and George Albert Medley were fined €5 each, or one month’s imprisonment. Charles Henry Poulgrain was fined .CIO or six weeks’ imprisonment for a similar offence.
