A NURSE’S DEATH. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb 9. Gladys Nora Sayers, aged 20, a probationer nurse at the. Christchurch Hospital, died under an anaesthetic on Sunday during an operation for quiusey. Twenty-four sheep were killed by the south-hound daylight- limited express at Taringaniotii level crossing v,esterad. The flock was being driven over the crossing when the train came through and there was no time to clear the line. The train v.as delayed only ten minutes.

Tho Council of tho Victoria College has adopted a resolution already agreed to by the Auckland College for cooperation ill establishing one University School of Agriculture in the North Island in accordance with the recommendation of Professor -Merrill (Wellington) and Professor Kiddet (Auckland). Too site is to be somewhere in the Marton-Palmerston district. Both Professors were agreed on the advantages of this locality.
